Our Founder, E.G. McGahan was born and raised on a farm in Paulding County, Ohio. As one of the thirteen brothers and sisters, he learned at an early age the value of a hard days work and the benefit of good character and values.

In 1944 this country was in the throws of WWII and E.G. McGahan found himself a soldier on the front lines for two years in France and Germany. During the perilous nights in the foxholes, Mr. McGahan would play word games in his mind to occupy himself so as not to fall asleep and be ambushed by Hitler's army. He had seen the word 'Ville' on the houses when they fought across France and he decided if he ever owned a business he would call it R-Ville, for our-home.

In 1949 R-Ville was born when McGahan broke ground to construct his first building at 2185 N. West St. Since then, R-Ville has grown from one of the smallest furniture stores in Northwestern Ohio, to the largest, in its 58 year history.
